Relationship Between Structural Modification of BDT-Based Donor Materials and Photovoltaic Performance of Organic Solar Cells

During his PhD studies, Wei Xu researched the applications of the organic semiconductor materials. These applications are mainly focused on Organic Photovoltaic (or Organic Field-Effect Transistor) devices, who are currently popular and new-generation organic semiconductor materials. Wei Xu synthesized these materials by purposeful structure design strategies, and then fabricated them into the corresponding organic semiconductor devices, and then characterized various aspects of performance of these devices.

The new research findings contribute to the understanding of how to improve the performance of devices, and demonstrating some specific structure design ideas of revealing the relationship of molecule structure and device performance.

The PhD study was completed at Department of Chemistry and Bioscience, Center for Membrane Technology, Aalborg University.
